Financial Report: Catalent

Oral Technologies revenue up 4% in the quarter

Catalent

4Q Revenues: $519.6 million (+3%)

4Q Earnings: $27.2 million (+66%)

FY Revenues: $1.8 billion (+2%)

FY Earnings: $16.2 million (loss of $49.6 million FY13)

Comments: Revenue from the Oral Technologies segment was $348.1 million, up 4% in the quarter led by the softgel business in international markets, and partially offset by volume declines in the pharma softgel business in North America and the company’s exit from its third-party commercial packaging business. Revenue from the Development and Clinical Services segment was $105.4 million, down 1% primarily due to lower comparator sales. Revenue from the Medication Delivery Solutions segment was $68.9 million, up 1%. The company recenlty announced plans to open a lab in Japan to provide proof-of-concept support and feasibility studies for the proprietary Zydis platform.
